Lloyd Clarence Stevens

Lloyd C. Stevens, 78, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away May 5, 2017. Lloyd’s Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday, May 10, at First Lutheran Church, 6400 State Line, Mission Hills, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either First Lutheran Church, 6400 State Line Road, Mission Hills, Kansas 66208 or Kansas City Hospice, 1500 Meadow Lake Parkway, Suite 200, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.

Lloyd was born and raised in Beatrice, Nebraska. He graduated from Beatrice High School and went on to graduate from Kearney State College. He married Melanie Stovall in 1963, they were married for 53 years. They moved to Kansas City in 1964, where he worked as a purchasing agent for many years. He was an active member of First Lutheran Church for 48 years. After his disability made it no longer possible for him to work, Lloyd loved to volunteer his time at the church, helping out in whatever way he could.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Alice Stevens and his sister, Edith Otte. He is survived by his wife Melanie, his daughter Sara Brown (Steve), his son Daren Stevens (Amy) and eight grandchildren Nicholas, Jordan, and Matthew Ratterman, Lindsey, Allison and Benjamin Brown, and Drew and Ryan Stevens, his sister Lee Boutross, two nieces and many cousins.
