Born: November 18, 1933 Died: March 14, 2020
Lola Woltkamp Boeding passed peacefully Saturday, March 14, 2020, after a full life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who had a kind word and a smile for everyone she met.
Born in Seneca, Kansas, as one of nine children to Frosty and Bertha Woltkamp, Lola grew up believing in the strength of family and her Catholic faith. Lola graduated from Saints Peter and Paul High School in Seneca and soon after married Alexis Boeding on August 20, 1955. Lola and Al were blessed with four children in their marriage.
Lola was a strong supporter of the activities her children participated in and was always there to drive and support them through music lessons, sports and cheerleading practices, games, and bad weather. It was always easy to find Lola at any of the games she attended because she was the one pacing the grounds with her nervous energy. She loved her home in Boulder, Colorado, and was a big booster of the Denver Broncos and later the Kansas City Chiefs when she and Al returned to the Kansas City area.
People could count on Lola to have a hearty laugh, a helping hand, and a welcoming smile. Her children learned valuable lessons through her clear commitment to honesty, hard work, discipline, education, responsibility, and integrity from the life she led.
Lola is survived by her children and their spouses: Steve Boeding (Diane), Jeff Boeding (Nikki), Annette Sluman (Donnie), and Mike Boeding (Kim). She was also the proud grandmother to Zach Boeding; Kelsey Boeding, Kelli Rodgers (Brandon), Christy Iske (Marc); Don Sluman IV, Jake Boeding (Sarah), and Lauren Boeding and great-grandmother to Logan Iske; Lexi Iske; Emmalynn Rodgers, and Max Rodgers. She is also survived by her sisters Marilyn Brinker (Bob) and Janie Conley. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Al, her parents, and six siblings.
A celebration of life, mass, and burial will be held later this year. No flowers or charitable contributions are requested by the family. Please remember Lola in your prayers.
