OBITUARY

Madeline D. McCraw

25 September, 1931 – 5 November, 2024
IN THE CARE OF

McGilley State Line Chapel

Madeline DeFeo McCraw passed away November 5, 2024 at the age of 93. She is survived by her two sons John and James, her sister and three nieces. A woman of unrecognized strength and courage, it was almost universally expressed by those who met and knew her that she was just the “nicest, sweetest person.” To us who had the privilege of sharing in her life, she was a beloved mother, loving sister, caring aunt, good friend and a blessing to have known. While her passing is much mourned here on earth, a glorious shout of joy rings through Heaven for the return home of a good and loving child of God. Included with that Heavenly host will be Madeline’s much adored daughter, Julie. The two were separated 60 years ago after an all too short five years of mother daughter love and caring. Imagine the reunion… imagine the joy… imagine the love. That is Just a small glimpse of the Heavenly light of God’s Love that will shine upon Madeline from now till beyond the end of time.

Madeline’s unheralded earthly sojourn, for the most part, stood in contrast to the kindness, caring and gentleness that shone thru from a soul deeply rooted in God’s Love. From childhood on, these loving traits constantly went unreciprocated and trampled upon, rather than nurtured and treasured. But, the light inside her was never extinguished nor even diminished. Her strength of character and courage of Spirit were her shield and sword. Both made her worthy of the Master’s words: “Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant.”
