Marcelle was born in Nancy, France, to Marcel and Marie Kohler (nee Bejean). She was the youngest of three children. Marcelle led a truly remarkable life growing up in Nazi occupied France. Her detailed accounts of her life during the war were terrifying and incredible. The extreme poverty and lack of basic necessities along with atrocities and gross injustices she endured and witnessed shaped her personality for the rest of her life. In spite of these difficulties, she was a woman of great joy and gratitude.
In 1955 she married the love of her life, Patrick Bosley. Patrick was in the Air Force and after marrying they continued to live in France for the first 10 years of their marriage. Later they returned to the states and settled in Belton, MO, at Richards Gebaur AFB. They remained married until his death in 2008.
Marcelle had a great love of the poor and suffering. She loved helping people even though she herself was a woman of modest means. When she would hear of someone in need, it was common for her to send them cash or money orders in the mail, anonymously. Often she bought Christmas presents for entire families in need. She was a supporter of food pantries, crisis pregnancy centers and other charities that helped so many.
Marcelle was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick, their infant son, Patrick Bosley, Jr., parents Marcel and Marie Kohler, her brother, Roger (Jeanette), sister Paulette (Gigi), and nephews Claude and Bruno. She is survived by her son, Mike (Alice), daughter Corinne, daughter Brigitte (Bryan), grandchildren Megan, Mercedes, Marie, Joe, Elise, John, Elaina, Raymond and Alex, nephews Daniel (Josette), Michel (Jacqueline), Jean-Pierre (Mathy), Sylvain (Corinne) and nieces Claudette, Viviane, Marlene (Eric),and Martine, and many great nieces and nephews. She will be sadly and deeply missed.
Marcelle had the great joy of dying as a Catholic with all the sacraments. A requiem mass will be held on October 7th at noon, at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church, Westwood, Kansas. Rosary will be at 11:30 am before mass.
Marcelle had a special devotion to Our Lady of the Rosary. Providentially, she will be buried on the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. Please pray a rosary for Marcelle and her family. God reward you!
The family would like to thank Father Heinricy for his visits to Marcelle which were such a great joy and consolation to her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Rose Philippine Duchesne "Families in Need" fund.
