

Marcia Lynn Jarnevic, a selfless, hard-working, devoted, faithful, and thoughtful individual, passed away on January 24, 2026 at the age of 90. Born on July 3, 1935 to Marvin L. and Ethel Mae (Leiter) Cooper in Sedalia, Missouri, Marcia was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri.
Marcia's early life was marked by her education at Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri, from which she graduated in 1953. It was during her high school years that she met Chuck Jarnevic at the local roller skating rink. Marcia furthered her education at Maple Woods Community College.
Her career was distinguished by her employment with the Federal Aviation Administration, from which she retired in 2008. Marcia also contributed her skills to H&R Block and The Jones Store.
On October 15, 1955, Marcia married Charles Jarnevic, and together they built a life in Kansas City. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved spouse, Charles; her first-born son, Mark Jarnevic; and her half-brother, David Cooper. She is survived by her sons, Paul (Julie) Jarnevic, Richard Jarnevic, and Tom (Michelle) Jarnevic; her sister, Diane Pirtle; her grandchildren, Luke (Miranda), Andy (Joanne), Matt (Stephanie), and Katie (fiance Cody); and her great-grandchildren, Ryder and Rowan.
Marcia had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She loved reading books, working puzzles, sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, and walking. Marcia was a member of the Daughters of the Revolution and spent many hours tracing her ancestry.
Marcia was an active member of St Patrick Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri, and participated in the Knights of Columbus Columiabettes.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff of The Princeton Senior Living Community and Monarch Hospice and Palliative Care for their support and care.
A visitation is scheduled from 10:30 -11:30 am Thursday, January 29th, with a funeral service at 11:30 am, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. For those who wish to attend, a committal service will follow services at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or Monarch Hospice.
Marcia Lynn will be remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
