Margaret Rose Bruns, 99 formerly of Kansas City passed away January 11, 2016 at her home in Illinois. She was born on March 17, 1916 in Grover Township, MO the daughter of Luther “Jack” and Fannie (Whiteman) Fisher. On October 19, 1935 Margaret married Martin J. Bruns. He preceded her in death. She became a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in the 1940s and was an active volunteer in the church and in numerous youth-related activities until her move to Illinois in 2007. An avid gardener, Margaret was gifted with a green thumb, and she found great joy in nature, and in particular Swope Park Zoo. She is survived by a brother, William Thomas Fisher of Tucson, AZ; a son, Martin T. (Audrey) Bruns of Hiawatha, IA; a daughter, Nancy J. (Ronald) Finch of Hoffman Estates, IL; six grandchildren, Tracy, Daniel, Christopher, William, Stephanie and Brian; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; an uncle, aunt, and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memorial Garden on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 10 AM. The service will be on January 23, 2016 at 11 AM at Covenant Presbyterian Church 5931 Swope Pkwy, KCMO.
