Maria Elena Ceja, age 65, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 1pm - 3pm at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd., Kansas City, MO 64119.
Maria was born on July 30, 1955 in Zamora, Michoacan, MX to parents Jose Luis and Martha (Avendaño) Ruiz. Maria worked for Weld Racing for 25 years and retired to be a stay at home grandma and cared for her 16 grandchildren as well as many other children.
Some of Maria’s favorite pastimes included crocheting, sewing, embroidery, gardening, listening to music, and, of course, cooking for and spending time with her family.
She also had a special love of soccer and watching it with her husband.
Her love and motherly advice will be especially missed by her family.
Maria is preceded in death by her mother; and son, Alejandro Ceja. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Miguel Ceja; children, Miguel, Maria, Diana, Leti, and Mateo; 16 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
