Marian Suzanne McNary

Suzanne was born in Springfield, Mo. on October 29, 1946. Her parents were H. Clinton Johnson and Anita Golightly Johnson. Suzanne grew up in the Springfield area and graduated from Parkview High School in 1964. Shortly after graduation she was married and later her son, Todd Boatman was born in 1967. Her first husband was in the Air Force and they later divorced.

Suzanne moved to the Kansas City area and had various jobs. She met Ron McNary at the bank where they both worked and they were married a few years later on July 28, 1973. They were married for 51 years.

During Suzanne’s working career she approved credit cards for Sears for 20 years, she did mortgage loan documentation for North American Savings Bank and also later worked in loans at Commerce Bank, where she retired in 2010.

Suzanne enjoyed reading, crocheting, aerobic dancing and traveling. After retiring Suzanne and Ron traveled on several cruises and flew to other countries and toured many places.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Johnson, her father, H. Clinton Johnson and her mother Anita Golightly Louzader.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald McNary, her son, Todd Boatman, her sister, Terry Johnson Reside (Dan), her granddaughter, Brittany Dunn (Kevin), her grandson, Bentley Boatman (Brock), six great grand children, Caden, Allison, Kamden, Cooper, Chandler and Madison, two nieces, several cousins and many friends.

The family requests no flowers and instead suggest donations to Wayside Waifs or Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice in Suzanne’s memory.

A visitation for Suzanne will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.
