A Celebration of Life with Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, with Memorial Mass at 12:00 pm, on Friday, April 14, 2023 at St Gabriel Catholic Church. A memorial fund is being established for his children.
Mark was born April 17, 1964, in Enid, OK and has been a resident of Kansas City since November of 1965. Mark grew up in St Andrew the Apostle parish where he served as an altar server. He attended Ravenwood Elementary School, Antioch Junior High School and graduated from Oak Park High School in 1982. Following graduation, he worked as a lifeguard in Ocean City, Maryland. He was self-employed for 24 years as a bail bondsman in Kansas City. On July 6, 2004, he married Angie Allinder and to this union were born two children, Seth, and Harmony.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Mae Vanderheiden and George and Margaret Smith.
Survivors include his two children, Seth Vanderheiden and Harmony Vanderheiden; his parents, Bobby and Jean Vanderheiden; a brother, Kevin Vanderheiden, his wife, Peggy; one niece and four nephews, Philip, Jacob, Rachel, Joseph and Timothy Vanderheiden.
Mark had a strong faith, was a very spiritual, caring and generous person, who touched many lives all around Kansas City. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends
