Marvin was born on January 28, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Thomas and Margaret Morales. Though quiet and shy at first, once you got to know him, he was full of stories and quick with a good joke. He had a lifelong love of adrenaline that began with go-kart racing in his youth, later evolving into race car driving, and eventually earning his pilot’s license. He was also a licensed Ham radio operator who built lasting friendships around the world through his radio communications. Marvin enjoyed a good steak, fishing, playing softball, and spending time with family and friends.
He spent most of his adult life working on vehicles, both for pleasure and professionally. Whether he was building race cars in his garage, managing heavy equipment for the fire department, or doing body work at Peterbilt, Marvin was no stranger to hard work and retired in 2001 after many years of dedication to Peterbilt Trucking Company in Kansas City.
Marvin was first married to Frances Morales, with whom he had three children: Mike, Teri, and Brian. He later married Patti Grimes, and they shared nearly 36 years of marriage before his passing.
Marvin loved his routines and could be found most mornings at Denny’s, enjoying coffee and conversation with a lively group of friends. Though laid back and soft-spoken, he deeply cherished time spent with his family and friends and always looked forward to their gatherings.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Grimes Morales, and his daughter, Teri Morales McAllister. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Morales, and his sons, Brian and Michael Morales.
