Mary was born on September 14, 1930 in Bowling Green, Missouri, daughter to the late Anna and William Bunten.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis (Buddy) Epperson in 2023 and her sister, Lucille Morrison. Mary and Buddy were married 72 years.
During her time, Mary enjoyed life. She liked being outdoors from being raised on a farm, mowing the yard, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens to simply sitting outside. During their married life, they visited Hawaii and traveled with their camper group Mo-Kan El Dorado group. Also, she enjoyed dancing, canning vegetables, spending time with her grandchildren and being with her dogs.
Mary was a loving, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed. The surviving family members include sons, David (Carrie) Epperson and Tom Epperson; daughter Janet (Dennis) McCarthy; 9 grandchildren (Ryan, Kaycee, Daryl, Danielle, Jason, Jeff, Scott, Todd, Adam); 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great- great grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, March 9th 2026 at ST. Margaret's of Scotland Catholic Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Visitation will start at 11:00am with a Rosary at 11:45am. The funeral mass will begin at 12 noon, will graveside following at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Kansas City.
