

Mary Kay, 95, passed away May 22, 2017 surrounded by her family at North Care Hospice House. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, May 25th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155; burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mary was born March 8, 1922 in Kansas City, KS to Walter and Marie (Coffey) Whitlow. She married Edward Fierst July 11, 1942. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ed; son, Gerry; sons-in-law Tom Matthys and Dana Whelchel; brother, Bob Whitlow, sister Dorothy (Don) Crowder; in-laws; Bob Stuart, Andy Wholey, Dan Palermo, Don Frame, Wilma Walker, Mary Dieffenbach and Sharon Niehaus.
Mary is survived by her children, Ed (Patty), Kay (Tommy); Bob (Nedi), Theresa, Patty (Scott) and Debbie. 15 grandchildren; Jeff (Stacy), Kristin (Chris), Mark, Tami, Steve (Kristine), Craig (Melissa), Mike, Aura (Ware); Brien (Jessica), Brandon (April), Brooke (Joe); Kelly (Brad), Dustin (Lauren), Danielle and Dilon. 18 2/3 great grandchildren; sister; Betty Stuart, brother; Wally (Mel) Whitlow; in-laws; Lainy Whitlow, Jimmy Wholey, Richard (Barbara) Wholey, Joann Palermo, Martha (Leonard) Swartz, Barbara Frame, Vonie Coffey and Bob Niehaus.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Our Lady of Mercy and North Care Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, contributions to North Care Hospice House or Holy Family Catholic Church.
