Mary E. Saunders, nicknamed Rosemary, 90, passed away peacefully at KC Hospice House on Thursday, January 28, 2016, in the arms of her family. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Mary was born May 24, 1925 to Clyde W. and Rose F. Tarlton. She worked on B-25 bombers and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as Medical Corpsman until 1946. Mary was a member of Jim Dandy’s Square Dance Club and a diligent and proud member of the IBEW #124 Retiree’s Ladies Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert Saunders and four brothers. Mary is survived by daughters Sharon Williamson and Pam Lavish, son Robert Saunders II, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and was loved by all.
