

Mary Evelyn Roos Trainor, 86, Kansas City, MO, passed away on Dec. 10, 2011 at her home. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m. on Mon., Dec. 19 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1310 Westport Rd. Private inurnment will follow. The public is invited to the family’s residence for fellowship and luncheon at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be 2-4 pm (Rosary at 3:30 pm) on Sun, Dec. 18 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Guardian Angels Church Food Pantry, St. Luke’s Hospice, 3100 Broadway St, #1000, Kansas City, MO 64111, or another organization that serves those in need.
Mary Evelyn was born on Feb. 17, 1925 in Humboldt, KS to William Albert and Kathryn Anna (Willenburg) Roos. She enjoyed quilting, bridge, good books, crossword puzzles, Sunday family dinners, and Hershey Bars. Mary was always there for those who needed her but asked for very little for herself. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. “Pop” Trainor. Mary is survived by her children and their spouses, Mary Jane Hanks (Stephen), Kathryn Jean Martin (Kevin), Janet Kathleen Trumble (Dennis), John Patrick Trainor (Eileen), Timothy Michael Trainor (Carla); grandchildren, Samuel, Benjamin, John, and Michael Hanks, James Martin, Casey and Anna Trumble, Andrew, Matthew and Daniel Trainor, Corey and Erin Trainor; brother, William Jerome Roos. The family would like to thank St. Luke’s Hospice, especially Barbara and Iesha, for making it possible to keep Mary at her home.
