

MaryAnn Brown, 84, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away peacefully Monday, May 19, 2014, at Sweet Life at Brookdale Place Memory Care Unit. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m., Friday, May 23rd, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Road, Roeland Park, KS, with a visitation following. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., private burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 8745 James A. MaryAnn was born December 23, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri to Michael and Livona (Witt) Costello. She graduated from Loretta School and was part of the first graduating class for TWA as a flight attendant. She met and married the love of her life, Joseph Edward Brown. Together they joyfully raised four children. MaryAnn owned and operated Needle Fiber Arts for ten years. An ongoing tradition dear to her heart was spending summers entertaining on Walloon Lake, Michigan with family and friends. She was a lover of the arts, gardening and music. Her passion in life was her devotion to her family.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Costello and Livona Sears; husband, Joseph Edward Brown; brother, Michael Costello. She is survived by her children; Joseph (Susan) Brown, Denise (John) Mundy, Anne (Craig) Gilliland, and Mary Leek; twelve grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mom your grace and style were reflected in your joyful smile and loving touch. Thank you for always being there for us. We already miss you and will always be forever in our hearts. We love you.
