I was so sad to hear of Marilyn's death. Marilyn and I taught together for 3 years at St. Elizabeth's back in the 70's.  She was one of the funniest people I know. She was kind, caring and generous and a fantastic teacher whom I respected and from whom learned a great deal.  She was obviously loved by many and will be missed.

I was a classmate of Marilyn's all through grade school at St. E.  I have not seen her since we graduated from there 50 years ago.

However, when I found out about her passing, I was very saddened.  Although I didn't get to know her during our adult life, I remember as a very sweet and special young lady.

My deepest sympathy and prayers go out for her and to all of your family.

Condolences to Mrs. Marlo, Angela, and family. I learned of Marylin's passing from my sister, who is in St. E's parish. I went to grade school with Marylin and still remember her first day in our class at St. E 's - she was a very special person, even at that young age. Marylin obviously touched the lives of many people in a positive way. May she now rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to read about Marylin's passing.  I will always remember her vibrant, beautiful and kind spirit when we were growing up together at St. Elizabeth's.  Marylin was a very special person.  My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Ms. Marlo, you will be missed.  You've touched thousands of hearts and lives by your teachings and your beauty.  What an incredible role model you were for many of us.  You had a style, grace and beauty like no other....you were truely one of a kind.  In 2nd Grade at St. E's you taught us "Around the World" and how to write in cursive....try as we may, none of us could write as beautiful as you.  THANK YOU for all of the patience and understanding that you showed to me and all of my siblings.  You've touched us all...and sent us down the right path.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family....I hope that through all of these writings that they will remember just how special you were and let your legacy live on. I often wonder if Ms. Marlo was instrumental in helping me develop my gift of gab! I remember whenever she had recess duty, I often chose to stand at her side and talk to her about whatever a 2nd grader talked about! I thought it was so neat that she took that time (in between having to yell at "the boys" for being too rough or taunting the girls :) to indulge in my non-stop talking. She even let me ring the coveted "recess bell" a few times, which was pretty darn cool for a 7 year old! 
I have so many fun and happy memories of my years at St. E's, and she is a huge part of those. She had a way of making each of us feel special and loved, which is amazing when you think about how many kids she taught. She touched so many lives by just being her.
My prayers go out to Mrs. Marlo and the rest of her family. May God carry you through this difficult time, and let the memories of her replace the many tears that are being shed.
Oh, and one last thing (see? I DO gab a lot!)...that "look" that John Lillis spoke of? I, too, remember receiving that "look" when I would get caught misbehaving in church! Her eyes spoke volumes!!
May she rest in peace. She will be missed.

I went to grade school with Marylin at St. Elizabeth. I will always remember her as a beautiful, friendly and kind person and her passing makes me sad.  Although I have not seen Marilyn in years I will always remember her beautiful face.  My sincerest condolences go out to Marilyn's family.

Mrs. Marlo, Angela and Jon, We are so sorry for your loss. Marylin was a wonderful person, so much fun and so beautiful.  She taught our children and was loved by them all. We're so glad she made it through her entrance into the St. E's Hall of Fame, so she would know what an impact she had on so many.

Marylin was my cousin! I loved her with all my heart. It is so neat to read all the wonderful things said about her. I will always remember how she loved to make every one laugh. She was beautiful both inside and out. She touched many lives and will NEVER be forgotten. I admired her as a young girl but even more so as she struggled with M.S. she never asked why. She was such an inspiration to me all my life. My family will miss her very much! Love you Marylin!!

I am so sorry to here about the passing of Marilyn. My husband & I are new to St.E's. I taught in the KC Diocese for 24 years. I went to this years Hall of Fame & was touched by Marilyn's story & her dedication to teaching. May you find peace through our Savior & the knowledge that a piece of Marilyn lives on in each child's life she touched.

To the Marlo Family,
Ms. Marlo was such a grand lady she was one of the coolest teachers that any second grade kid ever saw!  The way she dressed and her beautiful eyes made her the best 2nd grade teacher ever.  Her eyes would always get me. When I acted up in Mass once or twice or maybe even three times she would give me a look that would stop me dead.  Even in 8th grade I got that look a couple of times but not at Mass.  
Later on I used to see her at Mass at St.E's and would wave at her coming back from communion.  She would always look right into my eyes to acknowledge me.  I know she will be missed by her love ones and her former students.  Thank you Ms. Marlo for being a great teacher!  
At times like this I like to recall the Irish Blessing "May God hold her in the palm of his hand until you meet again..."

Marylin was a wonderful, giving person who was as beautiful on the inside, as she was on the outside.  I was so blessed to have had her touch my life.  My sincere condolences go out to Aunt Connie, Angela and the entire family!  I love you all, and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Marylin was my godmother and such a wonderful soul!  A fond memory I have of Marylin is how, when I was little, she would always give me a big chocolate bunny at Easter (and me feeling so proud because I had one and my brother and sister did not!).  I am happy that Marylin is at peace and my heart goes out to her family.  Your family is in my family's prayers.

I went to gradeschool with Marylin at St. Elizabeth. I will always remember her as a beautiful and kind girl. Then when I saw her again in later years, she was still the same great lady. She was a model for anyone who has struggled through MS. My sister struggles with this monster, so I know what she dealt with. May God bring her to His peace and rest in Him.

Miss Marlo taught me 2nd grade about 38 years ago, and I still remember how much I loved her. She taught us beautiful cursive handwriting, which we all tried to emulate, to no avail. She was a special teacher and woman, and she will be missed.

What an absolutely lovely, classy, and kind teacher Ms. Marlo was!  I loved having her as my second grade teacher at St. Elizabeth's.  She did so much for the education of young people.
