

Myrtle May Candler, 79 of Belton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014. Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd., Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26th at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Myrtle was born February 26, 1935 in Warsaw, MO, the daughter of John Webster Swearngin and Ethel May Ferguson Swearngin. Myrtle graduated from Warsaw High School in 1953. She retired from Forte Product Solutions after 20 years of service. Myrtle married James Candler at Poplar Baptist Church in 1962. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and was extremely proud of her son James Candler, Jr. when he received his Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Lee Candler, Sr.; her parents, John W. and Ethel May Swearngin; her brother, John W. Swearngin, Jr.; her sister, Virginia Lee Herman and brother-in-law George; brother-in-law; Earl E Hyatt; and a niece, Patricia Lynn Hyatt.
Survivors include her son, James L. Candler, Jr. and partner Paul D. Lorentz; 2 grandsons: Stewart David Candler and Leon Michael Paul Candler; a sister, Marjorie M. Hyatt; 2 brothers: Sterling F. Swearngin and Tom O. Swearngin; several nieces & nephews, great & great great nieces & nephews.
