Nancy Ann Raymond

Nancy was born in Kansas City, MO, on January 11, 1950, to Phyllis and Lester D. Jones Jr. She was the oldest of three children. Nancy graduated from

The University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology.

She lived in Anchorage, Alaska from 1974 to 1977. She had two daughters, Heather born in Alaska, and Julia born in Iowa. She was a good homemaker. Excellent cook. Enjoyed baking, sewing, and reading, and playing online solitaire. Her famous sugar cookies were enjoyed by all! She was an extremely devoted and loving mother. She was an avid KU fan and alumni going to games as often as she could. She also liked spending time in Lawrence enjoying the campus, and nearby shops and restaurants. She was also an avid Chiefs and Royals fan frequently going to those games and cheering very loudly! She was a very devout Catholic and her faith was extremely important to her. She went to mass weekly and prayed the rosary and other prayers daily.

Nancy is preceded in by death her parents and daughter Julia Dawn Raymond.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Heather L. Raymond, sister Patricia Jones, brother Michael Jones and friend Robert Anderson.

Funeral services at St. Mark’s Catholic Church on Friday, July 29, 2022. Graveside services to be held at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
