She is survived by sons Michael (Bethany) King, Brian (Rachel) King, grandchildren William, Grayson, Katherine, Bianca and Shepherd King, sister Barbara, (George) Enright, five nieces and nephews and lifelong best friend Gary Badale.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Mackay, brother Danny Gilzean and parents Walter and Ines Gilzean.
Patty was born in Oak Park, Illinois on November 2, 1948 and was one of three children to Walter and Ines Gilzean. She attended Christ the King grade school and graduated high school from St Theresa’s Academy. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City but split time between Phoenix in her later years.
Patty found her calling working in social environments as it allowed her true spirit to shine and was exemplified through helping and interacting with others. She also enjoyed a successful modeling career in Kansas City for many years.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and best friend. She loved spending time in her home as it was a place filled with love and laughter where she enjoyed watching Lifetime Hallmark movies, reading, tending to her many plants and listening to Italian opera.
Her feisty Italian personality was balanced with her genuine compassion for others and her love for all animals. She always had pets throughout her life, with her most recent rescue cat (KiKi).
Her fantastic laugh and genuine smile will be forever missed, but she will be remembered most for her amazing heart, compassion and caring spirit.
