Paul E. Verbrugge

Paul E. Verbrugge, 72, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 10-11am at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church (10010 E. 40 HWY Independence, MO) Mass of the Resurrection to begin at 11am. Inurnment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date. Paul was born on February 26, 1938 in Kansas City, KS to Camille and Pauline Verbrugge. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1956 and from St. Benedict’s College in 1960. Paul received a B.S.E.E from Kansas State University in 1961. He was employed at Lockheed Aircraft and at IBM prior to his retirement in 1991. Paul formed Advanced Accounting and Tax Service and retired in 2007. As a member for many years of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church he was a chairman of the finance committee and volunteered as an usher. Paul is survived by his wife, Cathlyn of the home; sons, Mark (Kelly) Verbrugge, John Buice and Jason (Gina) Buice; daughters, Patrice (John) Henn, Nancy (Randy) Gress and Julianna (Tim) Samoff; a brother, William (Dori) Verbrugge and 12 grandchildren.
