

Randall A. Woodward, age 84, passed away peacefully June 2, 2017 at Villages of Jackson Creek, Independence, MO. He was born September 12, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri. Randall is survived by his brother Donald O. Woodward Jr.; his children - Barbara (Wilbur) Bastin, Kimberly (David) Fiser, and Mark (Leah) Woodward; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Viola Margaret Woodward. Family graveside service will be Thursday, June 8, 2017, 11:00AM at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Randall attended Christian Brothers Academy in St. Louis, MO. After graduating high school, he attended UMKC, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1955, with a major in art. Randall did free-lance art work on a commercial basis including editorial cartoons (KC NEWS PRESS), poster work, layout, logos, and fine art work.
In 1956, Randall began working for the US Postal service, and held positions of clerk, Air Mail Expediter PS6, PSDS Technician PS6, Acting Foreman PS8,and ZMT Operator, PS8. He continued working at the Main Post Office on Pershing Road in Kansas City, MO for 31 years until he retired in 1987.
In his retirement, Randall enjoyed drawing, organic gardening, fishing and hunting, playing chess, and doing the daily crossword puzzle (in ink.)
Randall’s grandchildren include Andrea Woodward, Brooke(Chris) Powell, Dustin (Sarah) Kane, Trisha (Tommy) George, Kailin (Rober) Eskander, Brad Woodward, David Matthew Fiser, Emmalee (Austin) Rookstool. His great-grandchildren include Anica Steen, Andrea Powell, Siera Powell, Mariah Hedrick, Trinity Williams, Colin Kane, Cruz Kane, Audrey George, Clyde George, Daniel Eskander, Ruthie Jean Eskander, Micah Rookstool, Evelyn Mae Rookstool, and Ellis Grey Rookstool
