Richard L. Wilson, 91, of Lee’s Summit, MO died April 9, 2013 at St. Luke’s East. Visitation on Tues., April 16th from 10-11:30am at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel with memorial service beginning at 11:30am. Inurnment at 2pm in Missouri Veterans Cemetery (Higginsville, MO) with full military honors. All are invited.
Richard was born in Mound City, MO on Jan. 20, 1922 to Chaunce & Bertha Wilson and was the oldest of 5 children. He was a decorated WWII Navy Veteran; having served in the Pacific & European Theaters. Richard owned & managed American Industrial Tool for over 40 years. He was “dad” & “grandpa” to many; having been a Scoutmaster, mentor & coach. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, golf, pool & traveling.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, LeJeanne; a son, Jay & a sister, IdaLou. He is survived by two sons, Tom Wilson (Joan) of Lee’s Summit, MO & Kevin Wilson (Jean McCabe) of KCMO; two grandsons, Jay & Brian; a great granddaughter, Sophie all of CA; a sister, Helen and two brothers, Chaunce & Morris.
