Bob was born on November 3, 1932 in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska to Edward and Mary (Kohl) Corkill. He moved from Scotts Bluff to Kansas City, Missouri in 1946 and went to Lillis High School where he met Barbara Jean Garnier. He graduated in 1950 and attended Donnelly College. He joined the United States Air Force on November 28, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri and served our Country for 10 years serving during the Korean and Vietnam Era as part of the 512th Fighter Interceptor Squadron.
He married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Garnier on November 7, 1953, and together they raised their family of nine children while living in the Westport area, Guardian Angel Parish for 36 years. Bob was active in fundraising support for the Guardian Angels School and Church during his time as PTA president. Over the years Bob was employed in electronics design and industrial equipment sales, insurance sales, and aircraft overhaul engineering design. He also formed a speed-reading company which was successful here in KC and St Louis. In his spare time, he was active in his children’s activities and had a passion for inventing. Bob and Barb retired to Holden MO in 1997 and became a part of the Holden community as they enjoyed life on the Ranch. Bob loved being in the quiet of the country but service to his country was still important to him. He joined the Holden American Legion Post #90 and soon became the Post Commander. While Bob had many good qualities, one of his greatest qualities was his love of Family; our unity is proof of his love and success.
