Robert Walter Durig

Robert “Bob” Durig, age 58, of Overland Park, KS passed away November 7th, 2010. Services will be held Thursday November 11th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 11300 W 103rd St Overland Park, KS 66214 Visitation will be from 5PM-7PM, Memorial Mass will be at 7PM, with a reception to follow.

Bob was born May 15th, 1952 in Bronx, NY and attended East Catholic High School where he met and eventually married his high school sweetheart Nancy (Tierney). Bob was Director of Operations for Kansas City based restaurant chains. He was the “Voice of the Saints” Soccer, member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Soccer Hall of Fame and an entrepreneur. He was a loving husband, brother, father, wonderful grandfather and loyal friend.

He is preceded in death by his father Rudolph Durig and father in-law Richard Tierney. He is survived by his wife Nancy Durig, children: Dan Durig spouse Catherine Durig, Kerry Durig Smith spouse Ian Smith, Shannon Durig and Mike Ogurick, Michael Durig and Emily Heldstab, grandchildren: Ryan Daniel Durig 6, Ellie Tierney Smith 4, Lila Jo Smith 1, mother Julia Andrade Durig, brother John Durig spouse Dawn Lowery, sister Jeanne Alfaro spouse Rick Alfaro, brother Rick Durig spouse Barb Durig and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made payable to The “Bob Durig Memorial Fund c/o Holy Spirit Parish Overland Park, KS.
