Robert Lee Hoopes, 82, St. Peters, MO, passed away December 8, 2022 at NorthCare Hospice House, North Kansas City, MO. A Celebration of Life is scheduled at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Cornerstone Bible Church, 10336 NW Prairie View Road, Kansas City, MO 64153. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
“Bob” was born March 9, 1940 in Des Moines, IA. He lived most of his life in Gladstone and St. Peters, MO. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was an engineer employed with A.T. & T. and Southwestern Bell Telecommunications. Bob was a member of the Christian Church, the Telecom Pioneers, and the American Radio Relay League. He had a life-time hobby in genealogy. Bob was a ham radio operator. His call sign was KOKSV. Bob was a technical advisor at Louis and Clark Career Center, St. Charles, MO. He was a delegate to a national political convention to elect a U.S. President. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Debra Ann Ancell.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann; sons, Robert Jr. (Dana) and Daniel (Stephanie); 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
