Robert M. Horton

Robert was born July 3, 1945 in Emporia, KS to Harry F. & Rose D. (McCullough) Horton. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1963 & then joined the U.S. Navy. Robert later worked for Hallmark Cards as a Machinist from 1966 to 2000 when he retired. He was a competitive dirt bike rider & a part of the Mid America Trails Team. Robert was an avid golfer, bowler & enjoyed playing pool.

Robert married Janet Arnold on April 19, 1972 & she preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 1994. He married a second time to Carol ‘Jan’ Hester on Dec. 23, 1995 & she also preceded him in death on June 15, 2008. Robert is survived by a daughter, Mary Susan (Horton) Meador & husband, Mike; stepchildren from his marriage to Jan, Troy D. Reil & Chrissy D. Hebert; his siblings, Richard Burkey & wife, Joan, Ina Mae Huth & husband, Dean, John E. Horton & wife, Audrey & Leona Horton as well as his grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
