

Robert McClellan, Jr., 83, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away March 3, 2012. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Robert was born on February 3, 1929 to Robert Lee and Louise Carr McClellan in Haynesville, Louisiana. He was the oldest of six children. He accepted Christ at an early age in the Baptist faith. He always believed in the power of prayer. Robert was educated in Haynesville and Minden, Louisiana public school system. After graduating high school in 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served over thirteen years and was honorably discharges in 1961. After military service Robert was employed with General Motors where he retired after 30 years of service. He married Barbara O’Neal and to this union five children were born, Robin, Sheila, Brittania, Sidney Gayle and Reginald. He later married Mary Hubbard and had one son Michael. Preceding him in death were his father Robert Lee, his mother Louise, sisters Betty, Barbara, Ella Norris and daughter Sidney Gayle. He leaves to mourn his memory a loving wife of 43 years, Mary; daughters Robin, Sheila and Brittania of California; sons Reginald of California and Michael of Kansas City, MO; brother James Charles of California; sisters Arbra Ruth; sisters-in-law Olevia Davis (Leroy), Jessie Griffin, Gertie Trezvant (Terry), and Sharon Newsome; brother-in-law Elmer B. Windom (Patches); six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Kansas City Hospice.
