

Robert Neville Miller passed away March 20, 2015. Visitation will be held 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, March 27 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 28 at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Ridge Cemetery, Modena, MO.
Robert Neville Miller was born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO, on February 12, 1930. He was the second son born to Margaret Neville Miller and Paul Marion Miller. When Bob was 3 years old, his father died of cancer. His mother remarried four years later to Paul D. Owen. Bob attended Border Star Grade School, Southwest High School, Westminster College in Fulton, MO, and the University of Missouri-Columbia. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea.
Bob married Frieda Katherine Kirby on May 22, 1965. Bob was a partner in Rogers-Miller Sod Farm and was president of the Kansas City Turf Association for two terms. He was the owner and operator of Mill Creek Tree Farm when he retired in 1991. Bob enjoyed building and flying remote-controlled airplanes. He was a proud member and founder of the 95th Street Flying Group.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Paul Marion Miller, Jr. and Paul D. Owen, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Frieda, and his three daughters, Linda Greenlee of Ridgecrest, CA; Susie Berry (Edward) of Palm Harbor, FL; and Deanna Sickles (Carl) of Shelbyville, IL; four grandsons, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
The family would especially like to thank Bob’s nephew and his wife, Woody Owen and Jan Kohl and family, caregivers from Hearts at Home and Kansas City Hospice for their excellent work and loving care.
