Ronald Lee Hilliard

After high school, Ronald served 4 years in the Navy, including serving in the Vietnam War. He took a lot of pride in serving for his country. After serving in the military, Ronald worked for the Jackson County Environmental Health Department for over 35 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and watching the KC Chiefs! If there was a hunting or fishing show on TV, you best believe Ronald would be watching it. He also enjoyed the beauty of flowers and loved working in his flower garden.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Velma; and his brother, Dennis Hilliard.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Cheryl; two children: Jason Hilliard and Amy (Jeff) Cronin; four grandsons: Tyler and Garrett Cronin and Brayden and Jacob Hilliard; two brothers, Vernon (Susan) and Steve; his Aunt Nancy; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Jenny.

A visitation will be held from 10-11:30 AM on Thursday, December 28, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO. Following the visitation, his graveside service consisting of Military Honors will be held at 1 PM at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Bus, MO-13, Higginsville, MO 64037.
