Rose O. Foster

Rose entered the world on August 29, 1932, in Faribault, Minnesota, born to John Leo and Margaret Theresa O’Kane. From her early roots in Minnesota to her later years in Missouri, Rose was known to everyone as the undeniable "sparkplug" of her family. She possessed a quick wit and a wicked sense of humor that could light up any room and bring laughter to any gathering.

Above all else, Rose dedicated her life to being the best mother she could possibly be. Her proudest accomplishments weren't measured in accolades, but in watching her children and grandchildren grow, thrive, and become the people they are today. Her family was her heart, and her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on through them.

Rose is survived by her loving children Thomas (Catherine) Foster, Margaret (Steven) Pissarreck, Timothy (Donna) Foster, Patricia (Lester) Carbaugh, and James Foster. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kevin Foster (Emily Dold), Trevor Carbaugh, and Marissa Carbaugh; her brother, Hugh O’Kane; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Leo and Margaret Theresa O’Kane; her beloved husband of 38 years, Thomas R. Foster; her children, Elizabeth Foster and Peter Foster; and her siblings, Genevieve Sylvester, James O’Kane, Margaret McDermott, Richard O’Kane, Lucille Miller, and John O’Kane. She is reunited in peace with them, as well as many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who provided comfort, care, and support to Rose and her family during this time. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Rose's life on Friday, May 29, 2026. Services will be held at the following locations:

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM at St. Sabina Parish, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, MO.

Luncheon, Informal Visitation, & Celebration of Life Memorial Service: Beginning at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.

Inurnment: 3:00 PM at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.
