Born as Rosemary Gieringer on June 4, 1927, she was the fourth child and first daughter or Charles J. and Margaret I. (Pierce) Gieringer. She was later joined by five brothers and two sisters, to complete the large and happy family. She attended school at Ruhl Hartman and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, during her youth.
She was employed as a teenager at the fountain at Katz Drug Store. She later worked for Pratt and Whitney during World War II and continued her career with Social Security Administration and Internal Revenue Service, where she retired at age 60 with over 30 years federal service.
She was an active member of the local TOPS organization and the Red Hatters. She attended Spring Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and games with her family and friends. She loved sports and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and the KC Chiefs. She loved watching her great granddaughter, Taylor, pitch softball, and if unable to attend her games, tried to watch on a podcast. She read constantly, finally mastering downloading books onto her IPAD, with much technical support from her daughter, Ruth. Weekends would find her playing cards with David and Brenda, watching Chiefs games with Ronnie, and joining Ruth or Randy and Diana for dinner. Her sunroom was recently restored by her daughter Rosanne and Rosanne's husband Nic, with help from her son David, and she loved sitting outside on it to enjoy her backyard, watching the progress of her tomato plant. She had a green thumb and surrounded herself with beautiful flowers and plants. She was fiercely independent, recently moving back into her single-family home. She missed her friends at Jessica Estates, where she had attended all the donut days, monthly lunches and card gatherings until Covid put a stop to that socialization, prompting her move back to her home. She was a happy and energetic 94-year-old who had every intention of reaching 100, a promise she had made to her brother, Chuck, prior to his passing. She was always happy and outgoing with a smile on her face.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Schultz and her son, Donald. Also, her parents, Charles and Margaret Gieringer, brothers, Charles Jr., Homer, Robert, Thomas and John Gieringer and sisters Katherin Bennett and Betty Thomas, as well as several in-laws and a nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughters Ruth Pannell and Rosanne (Nic) Smith, and sons Randy (Diana) Schultz, David (Brenda) Schultz and Ronald Schultz and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She also leaves three brothers, Leo (Barbara) Gieringer, Ben Gieringer and Michael Gieringer and a score of nieces and nephews.
