Rubye Nell Morgan

Rubye Nell Morgan passed away on July 26, 2024 at 79 years old. She was born on December 29, 1944 in Skipperville, Alabama to Shellie and Esther Mae McLeod. She graduated high school from D.A. Smith High School in Ozark, Alabama. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1964 for better job opportunities and secured a job at General Hospital as a nurse's aide. After five years she went into banking as a bank teller at Southeast State Bank, now Arvest Bank. She later transferred to Laurel Bank, which is now US Bank. After banking, Rubye began working at James B. Nutter as a property manager.

While working at Southeast State Bank, she met her husband, Derrick, who frequented there as a customer. They were united in holy matrimony in July 1978 and have three children; Cedric, Derrika and Catherine. She had a heart of gold, never met a stranger and will be severely missed by those she left behind.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Derrick Morgan; son, Cedric (MaryTherese) Bills; daughters Derrika (Thone) Synhavong and Catherine (Geoff) Neufeld; five sisters, Evelyne McClendon; Mae Catherine Taylor; Henreditha Summerville; Emma (James) Pruitt; Voncile (Hazel) Robinson; along with eight grandchildren, one great grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter (Arlette); sister, Lunnie Norton; and brother, William McLeod.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Visitation is from 2-3 pm, service starts at 3 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO, 64133. Repass to follow at Floral Hills.
