Ruth C. Murphy, 92, longtime resident of Kansas City, MO, passed away July 22, 2013 at Golden Living Center of Smithville, MO. Graveside services are 1:00 PM Friday, July 26th at Mt. Olivet Cemetery where Ruth will be interred next to her husband, John Thomas Murphy who preceded her in death in November of 2007. A private family mass and memorial will be held at a later date. Memorials and cards may be forwarded to McGilley Antioch Chapel.
Ruth was born February 25, 1921 in Germany. She attended colleges in Heidelberg, Germany and Pennsylvania. She worked and raised her family in Kansas City. Ruth was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church and was very active in volunteering especially at the parish school. Prior to residing at Golden Living, she was a resident of Wexford Place.
Survivors include granddaughter, Michelle Morrow, Austin, TX and step-daughter Patricia Murphy Palermo, FL; and grandchildren.
