

Sally Ann Johnson was born in Middletown, Ohio on January 11th, 1924 and with the enduring love of her family died on December 18th, 2020. She was about to celebrate her 97th birthday on January 11th, 2021. She was a loving mother to her sons Dan and Tim, a doting grandmother to her grandchildren Sean, Stacey and Justin, and a great grandmother to her great grandchildren Lucian, Zoe, Regan and Reece along with the newest addition to her family Stella Katherine.
Sally was married to the love of her life Charles Johnson in her birthplace of Middletown, Ohio at the Church of the Ascension on the 31st day of August in the year of our Lord 1946. She celebrated her 72nd wedding anniversary in 2018, the year she lost her beloved husband. lifelong companion and soulmate lovingly known as Charlie.
She was a veteran of World War II serving in the Women's Auxiliary Corps as a nurse from January,1945 through January,1946. She received the World War II Victory Medal for her dedicated service to her country.
After serving in the European theater during World War II her husband Charles became a commissioned active duty Army officer in 1948 and was first stationed in Munich, Germany. Sally then became the steadying hand that guided her family through the many challenges and rewards of Army life. The family traveled extensively across the United States from duty stations in California, Georgia, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, New Jersey and Virginia as well as abroad to Germany, Italy and Japan. Her life as a military wife ended in 1974 with the retirement of her husband from active duty service. They then settled in Kansas City, Missouri where they enjoyed the love of family and friends.
Affectionately known as Sara in later life she will be remembered by her friends and family for her gentle spirit and deep and abiding Christian faith which never wavered throughout her lifetime, She was an
active member of St Andrews Episcopal Church along with her husband Charles taking Communion to
those unable to attend services and participating in a wide variety of activities in support of the church.
She had a lifelong love for her many poodles and yorkies, along with her beloved german shepherd affectionately named Sally. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends with splendid dinners loved by everyone. We all mourn her loss deeply, but know that she will remain in our hearts and minds now and forever. She is survived by her sons Daniel and Timothy Johnson; grandchildren Justin and Sean Johnson and Stacey Austin; great grandchildren Lucian and Zoe Montgomeryand Reagan and Reese and Stella Johnson.
