Shawn K. Marley

Shawn K. Marley, 53, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away January 11, 2014. Born January 25th, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, Shawn was the son of Kenneth and Shirley Marley. Shawn made his home in Kansas City, Missouri and Overland Park, Kansas as a manager of his mother's performing arts academy, the Miller Marley Schools of Dance and Voice in Overland Park, Kansas. Shawn enjoyed the lasting and deep roots established by his family in this community.

Shawn leaves his mother Shirley Marley, partner Chuck Raisor, aunt and uncle Jerry and Jo Reed, aunt and uncle Janice and Bob Strawn, cousins Kristen, Kelly, Randy and Lavonne, stepmother Elfrieda Marley, stepbrother Steve Miller, lifelong friends Marie Farrington and Brian McGinness and his beloved great-aunt Floreine Frye (Auntie Jack). He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Marley, stepfather Jonny Miller, sister Shannon Marley, stepsister Belinda Murray and stepbrother Craig Miller.

Services will be held Friday, January 17th, 3:00 p.m., at the Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. Shawn held devotion for the beauty of nature, traveling to foreign lands, and the immense love of animals and championed animal rights.
