

Wanda Sue Mann, 85, Independence, MO passed away December 17, 2016. Visitation 10-11 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21st at Lake Lotawana United Methodist Church, 28901 NE Colbern Rd, Lake Lotawana, MO 64086. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lake Lotawana United Methodist Church.
Sue was born on February 6, 1931 in Pattonsburg, MO, daughter of Joseph O. Horton and Anna Eva (Severe) Horton. Sue had 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She graduated from Pattonsburg High School where she was a cheerleader and the salutatorian of her Senior Class. Sue married John C. Mann of Kansas City, who preceded her death on November 20, 2016. In their 67 years of marriage they never had an argument. She was a member of the Lake Lotawana United Methodist Church for 63 years. Sue loved to tend to her amazing flower gardens, sew clothes for the people she loved, re-upholstered and refinished furniture, and loved to bake. She baked numerous wedding cakes and was famous for her Red Velvet Cakes that always brought top dollar at the church auctions. Most of all she enjoyed taking driving vacations with her husband and together they were able to visit 49 of the 50 states. Sue was a devoted homemaker, wife to the love of her life, and mother to her three children she loved very much.
She lived in the Grain Valley, Lake Lotawana, and Lee’s Summit areas for most of her life. Most recently she resided in The Groves Retirement Community in Independence, MO. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Rick and Debra Mann of Overland Park, KS; daughter and son-in-law Susan (Mann) and Rob Wyatt, Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Elaine Mann of Tampa FL; seven grandchildren Ryan, Eric, Nathan, Jennifer, Rebecca, Amy and Jonathan; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a large extended family and countless friends, all close to her heart.
