Wendell Ashley Wilburn

He was born on August 8, 1959 in Lawrence, Kansas. He’s been married to Yvonne Carrender of Lee’s Summit, Missouri for 15 years. He was her rock, her provider and her hero. RIP my love. He was a great basketball player and loved to play. Wendell had a heart of gold. He loved his family and would help if he could. He was a truck driver for over 20 years and he became a Diamond Driver. He received his own truck due to driving millions of miles for Swift Transportation. He loved his job and everyone at Swift. He also loved the casino, if he wasn’t at work or home you could find him there.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jane Elizabeth Waters and Wayman Warren Wilburn; and his sister, Robin Wilburn.

Wendell is survived by his wife, Yvonne of Lee’s Summit; children, Crystal of Lee’s Summit and Erin, Angela, and Evan of Lawrence, Kansas; brothers: Jason Wilburn and Wayman Wilburn of Lawrence, Kansas, Chris Wilburn and Darwin Dean Wilburn; sisters: Allison Wilburn Black, Valerie Wilburn King, Carolyn Ross, and Laura Joe Reed; grandchildren: Myah and Alex of Lee’s Summit and Oscar and Isaak of Lawrence, Kansas. Nephew, Kevin Wilburn of Lawrence, Kansas and many other family and friends.
