William Donne Meeker

Bill primarily grew up in Missouri and attended grade school and high school in Columbia, Missouri. He returned to graduate from the University of Missouri after his honorable discharge from the Army.

It was at MU Bill met and married Joan Alden Kizer. While finishing his studies, Joan gave birth to a baby girl, Kathy. After graduation, the family moved to Kansas City and had a baby boy, Bill, Jr.

He was a fixture and wanted to be involved at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Bill & Joan were married at St. Andrews, as were his two children and two of his grandchildren.

Bill leaves behind his children, Miriam Kathleen (Kathy) Smith and husband Rick, son William D. (Bill) Meeker, Jr., and wife Pam; his grandchildren, Lee Welek and husband Tom, Paige Cline, David Meeker, Jack Unger and wife Bridgette, Christopher Meeker; and all his great-grandkids.

Bill was the big brother to three siblings and will forever be remembered by his sister Muriel Hay. Bill's younger sister Linda Rochon and little brother Bob Meeker will welcome Bill in heaven.
