Aunt Evelyn I'd love to get your address so I could write. I sent a letter to where you were at with your sister but it was sent back. I'd love to send you photos of my two grandkids too. Please contact me. I miss you so much. I miss Uncle Bill as well. You two are a favorite.part of.my life.

Evelyn, this is your old neighbor lady who lived in the little 3 story court, Robin, with the black tree-climbing dog Rowdy.  I am so sorry i didn't call sooner and so sorry for your/our loss now more than two years of Bill.  I miss you both so much.

Bill brought such joy to everyone's life; of course, especially yours!  He would do anything to make you smile more than anybody i have ever known, and especially you!  You were his princess and he was your knight in shining armor.  Also, you were the queen and he was your jester!  He would do anything to make you laugh and cheer you up up up!  I know you really miss him hon.  I was lucky to know, love and be loved by you both!

I remember the funny basement and his wacky hat, avon cologne bottle collection, toy guns and holsters, whistles, bells, alarms and lights :).  Of course, the record player.  Remember the time he had me bring Rowdy over to see how he would react to a record with wolves howling?  I will never forget getting to eat Thanksgiving dinner and sometimes even Christmas Dinner with you every year for several years while i lived on the 3rd floor of the court next door.

I will never forget all the walks the three of us took around the neighborhood, mainly toward The Nelson Art Gallery.  Mostly, all the wonderful times on the front porch just whiling away the evening hours with Bill always making us giggle and laugh.

Ever since I moved down around Branson and I did call you two, I have kept the picture I had of the both of you in the summer and Bill in his shorts with no shirt, both big smiles and his thick head of hair in a gold desk top frame and see it all the time and have always thought of you both often.  You were both so good to me.  I love you always Evelyn!

Uncle Bill was such a fun loving and thoughtful person to know growing up. I loved how he & Aunt Evelyn were such a caring couple. They were always reminding me that there are couples that love each other deeply

Uncle Bill will be missed by all who knew him. I loved his wit. I remember well the Rush brothers. They all loved the outdoors and fishing. I remember lots of "fish tales" and lots of jokes.

I have lived across the street from Mr. & Mrs. Rush in the Southmoreland neighborhood for 7 years. They have been such a lovely couple to know. I recall the day I moved into the home across the street from him.  Mr. Rush's wife Evelyn told my family (helping me move) that they would keep an eye on me. 

I recall the couple walking nearly every night to enjoy the lovely neighborhood. Mr. Rush insisted on his exercise throughout Southmoreland.

Mrs. Evelyn Rush recently showed me beautiful photos from their wedding day in 1950. They met as a blind date. She was a hairstylist and wanted to attend an event with her friends/clients. Their mutual friends set her up with Mr. Rush and the couple fell in love.  She tells me that he had the most handsome red hair and stood 6'4.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Mr. Rush, yet so grateful for the kind friendship of this couple.  What an impact he made as a veteran, a local business owner and kind neighbor. Our neighborhood will miss his presence.

I lived across the street from Mr. & Mrs. Rush for nearly 10yrs.  I loved watching them go for walks.  Bill was fast walker :) 

Rest in peace, Mr. Rush

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Rush.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
