William "Bill" Eugene Vernassie, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on September 6, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on January 5, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, William was known for being hard-working, generous, honest, kind-hearted, and thoughtful.
Bill attended Glennon High School, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by dedication and integrity. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country with distinction. Following his military service, William embarked on a career with the Missouri Pacific Railroad, from which he eventually retired after many years of dedicated work.
Bill is survived by his nephew, Steve Vernassie, and Steve's wife, Rhoda, who remember him fondly.
William Eugene Vernassie will be laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth.
