

Born and raised in the Chicago and Streamwood, Illinois area, Aida later lived in Houston, Texas, and Kissimmee, Florida, before eventually settling in the Simmonton/Fulshear area, where she built a life centered around family, compassion, and helping others.
Aida touched countless lives through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering belief in others. She dedicated her life to helping people as both a teacher and counselor, always encouraging those around her to become the best version of themselves. She was known for never giving up on anyone who was struggling and for offering patience, wisdom, and understanding to all who crossed her path.
Outside of her work, Aida found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved arts and crafts, spending time outdoors, watching animals, and going on walks. She had a deep love for her dog children, whom she adored training, and also had a special fondness for goats and horses. Above all else, Aida cherished time spent with family and loved bringing everyone together for gatherings filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Aida will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the endless love she gave to both people and animals alike. Her legacy of compassion and encouragement will continue to live on through all the lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Venessa Artuz.
She is survived by her loving husband, Herminio Artuz Jr.; her sons, Christopher Artuz and Alexis Artuz; and many family members and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Katy Funeral Home, located at 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by the funeral ceremony from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to remain afterward for catered food, fellowship, and visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A future cremation burial ceremony will be held in Illinois at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum in Niles, Illinois. Date to be determined.
