Alice Gonzalez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by love, just as she spent her life surrounding others with care, strength, and warmth.
Born on February 10, 1947, in Argo, Illinois, Alice lived a life rooted in family, resilience, and generosity. She had a way of making people feel welcome—whether through her words, her laughter, or the simple comfort of her presence. To know her was to know love.
Her greatest joy was her family. She especially delighted in her role as a grandmother, where her love only grew deeper and sweeter.
Family gatherings, shared stories, and everyday moments were where she shined the most. She had a true love for shopping and fashion, always with an eye for the perfect find and a gift for picking out just the right thing for the people she loved. Decorating brought her great joy, and the holidays were her favorite time of year.
Alice will be remembered for her kind heart, strength, sense of humor, and generosity. She taught those around her the importance of perseverance and kindness – lessons that will live on through all who loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jesus Alaniz Gonzalez. For more than 50 years, they walked through life side by side. Their marriage was marked by loyalty, mutual respect, and a deep love that grew stronger with time. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the life she lived and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will remain forever in our hearts.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Katy Funeral Home.
