

Armando R. Garcia Jr, 64, passed away into Heaven on Monday, February 7, 2022, in Houston, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who held enduring affection for his family and friends.
Armando was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 30, 1957, to Armando Garcia, Sr. and Santos Resendez Garcia. He was a graduate of Miller High School in Corpus Christi, where he played football. Ever since he was a kid, he loved to work in his father’s automobile shop and work in the refineries with the engineers in Corpus Christi. After graduation, he went on to become an Electrical Engineer, this became his passion throughout the course of his life that would lead to several future opportunities for him and his family.
He met the love of his life, Irma Chica Garcia, while attending a social gathering put on by his brother and sister-in-law. The moment he met her, he knew that one day he would marry and start their lives together. Together they would raise two children.
Armando was a passionate and hard-working man who sacrificed a lot in order to provide the very best for his family. Throughout his years in the industry, Armando spent time working for various companies in Houston, Texas. This would lead to several opportunities to travel countries around the world where he met many lifelong friends. Eventually, Armando had the opportunity to start an EPC Company in 2008 in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico. As the owner of the company, he would lead with strength and compassion. Armando always tried to look for the best in people and would treat everyone the same, no matter of the position that they held.
Armando always lived life like every day was his last. He enjoyed traveling, shopping, hunting, BBQ’ing and was an avid TV watcher for channels as The Hunting Channel and HGTV.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irma C. Garcia; his children, Evonne Maldonado and Mark Garcia; grandchildren Olivia Garcia, Christopher Garcia and Adam Maldonado; great grandson Christopher Garcia Jr; siblings, Beatrice Moreno, Elena Perez, Miroslava Garza and Eluid Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents Armando Garcia Sr and Santos Resendez Garcia.
A Celebration of Life will be held in The Rio Grande Chapel at Katy Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 4:00-8:00PM. The burial will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 11:00am.
