

Helen Juliet Dearing was born in London, England, July 11, 1946, and passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Sugarland, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lilian Peake. She is survived by her significant other of many years, Andrew Spooner, ex-husband and friend, Steven Dearing; daughter Amanda Johnson and husband Shawn of Sugarland, TX, daughter Lisa Lawler and husband Robert of Katy, TX; grandchildren Xavier and Jada Johnson of Sugarland, TX and Emma, Ryan, and Kate Lawler of Katy, TX; sister Margaret Glenister and her husband Peter of Codicote, England and her nephew and niece, Robert and Sara Glenister; and many friends.
Helen traveled the world and lived a life many dream of before settling down in Houston, TX and devoting her life to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, going on long “English” walks, playing games with her five grandchildren, and having afternoon tea. She was a confidant to many and cherished her close friends.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Boulevard in Katy, Texas. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 18, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road at Dairy-Ashford, Houston, Texas 77077.
