

Mr. Biela was born August 27, 1947 in El Campo, Texas to Benjamin Joseph Biela and Lillie Geneva Clark. James raised his family in Harlingen, Texas but moved to Katy, Texas in 2004 to be closer to his grown children and grandchildren. He graduated from Harlingen High School in 1966. He served our country in The United States Marine Corps. and served in the Vietnam War. James graduated college from Texas Southmost College in Brownsville, Texas. He was an avid painter, guitarist, and cook. James enjoyed spending time with his family and was loved by all.
Mr. James Daniel Biela was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, David, Tom, and Robert. He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Margaret Biela of Katy, TX; son, Patrick John Cradit and wife Kristi Cradit of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Therese Cruz and husband Edward Cruz of Houston, TX; daughter, Michelle Gomez and husband Juan Gomez of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Justin Cradit, Ashton Cradit, Brayden Cruz, and Kaela Cruz; sisters, Kathy O’Rourke, Cecilia Biela Lyssy; brother, Ben Biela and a host of nephews and nieces and other extended family and friends.
James was an honorable Marine, Husband, Father and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The Biela family would like to give a special thanks to the Amedisys Hospice staff and all family who took great care of him in his final days of life.
A visitation for James will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, KATY, TX 77494. A rosary & funeral liturgy will occur Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 10:15 AM, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, KATY, TX 77494. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 12:45 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests that donations be made in James’ name to the American Cancer Society or other charity of choice that supports veterans and their families.
