James Robert Silva

James attended Memorial High School and also attended the University of Houston and became a Layout Engineer in High Rise construction.

James married his loving wife, Shirley in July of 1978 and had 4 beautiful children. He loved golf, tinkering in the garage, working with his hands and cooking, but most of all he loved his family.

He is preceded in rest by, his grandparents; his parents, Mabel and Foster Silva; and his brother, Richard Silva.

He is survived by, his wife Shirley Silva; his children, Michelle Dunham, Jeniffer Swonke, Tammie Reece and Jason Martinson; his brothers, Charles Silva and wife Beverly, John Silva and wife Diana, Bill Silva and partner Susan Arbuckle, & Tom Silva and wife Dianne; his sister, Elizabeth Silva; his sister-in-law, Liz Silva; his God daughter, Cindy Silva; his grandchildren, Preston Martinson, Pearce Martinson, Paisley Swonke, Elley Swonke, Brycen Dunham, Berkley Dunham, Brier Dunham, Baelor Dunham; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

James loved helping people. He was a kind, family man, a hard worker and an animal lover. He loved helping his community and volunteered with West Harris County EMS. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him, he will be missed.

A visitation for James will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, Texas 77494. Rosary will be Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Epiphany of the Lord, 1530 Norwalk Dr, Katy, Texas 77450. Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 11:30 AM. Committal will be Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77038.
