Johny Jo Fulp

John Jo Fulp, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Grace Care Center in Katy, Texas. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 22, at the First United Methodist Church in Valley Mills. Interment will be at the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at Foss Funeral Home.

Johny Jo Fulp was born July 20, 1927, in Mosheim, Texas, to John Bailey and Sally Laura (Vickrey) Cummings. Johny Jo graduated from Mosheim High School and then moved to Waco, Texas, where she completed her higher education at Central City Commercial College. While in Waco she met and married Julian Edward Fulp, her husband of 63 years. Julian and Johny Jo left Waco in 1950 and made Odessa, Texas their lifelong home.

Johny Jo worked as a bookkeeper for Bethlehem Steel, Emco Machine Works and Odessa Industrial Casting. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the American Business Women's Association.

Her wonderful wit, optimism, and warm personality were priceless to her family and the many friends who lives she touched. She cultivated so many unforgettable and special friendships in Odessa and cherished her time there.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Bun Vickrey Cummings; and sister, Eva Lillian Cummings.

Johny Joe is survived by her children, Marsha Hensley and husband, Rodney, of Katy, and Janeen Agricola and husband, Dewayne, of Goliad; three granddaughters, Renee, Trisha, and Kirsten; four nieces; and two nephews. Condolences to the Fulp family may be mailed to PO Box 4141, Beeville, TX. 78104.
