Lea Ann (Wheatley) Perryman, age 75, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at home in Katy, Texas. She was born Sunday, January 25, 1948, in Galveston, Texas, to parents Buck and Lucille (Starr) Wheatley.
Lea Ann was very proud of being “born on the island” of Galveston. She was living in Houston, Texas in 1969, attending the University of Houston, when she met her future husband, David. They were both living at the same apartment complex and were married three months after meeting at the Harmony Wedding Chapel.
She loved being a mom to her two girls, Angie and Amy, and was a stay-at-home mom until they started school. Always taking them on adventures, Angie and Amy were the envy of their neighborhood friends and were once told “you’re so lucky, your mom is always taking you places”.
Lea Ann worked as a legal assistant and her last position was a secretary for Harris County HIV Services. In her later years, she loved her cats, keeping up with politics and watching the Aggies play football. While not a graduate of A&M, Lea Ann was a staunch supporter of the alma mater of her husband and two daughters.
Mrs. Perryman is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, David Anthony Perryman; daughters, Angie Peters and husband, Keith; and Amy Shield and husband, Dave; and grandchildren: Nathan, Sarah, Zachary and Isaac.
Following cremation, Lea Ann will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery. She will be missed by all.
