

Ms. Wainwright was born May 13th, 1942 in Biscoe, Arkansas to Cecil and Geneva Saxton. In 1960, Lola graduated from Biscoe High School and moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She quickly established herself by first working in the restaurant industry and eventually became an assembly line worker for companies like Cerro Copper and Dana Corporation. In her later years, she found enjoyment and independence as a home caregiver for elderly patients with Humana Corporation. She retired in 2020 and relocated to Texas in 2022.
A long-time resident of Cleveland, Lola was an avid fan of Cleveland’s major professional sports teams, the Browns, Cavaliers and Guardians. Lola was blessed with an unending quest for knowledge and a wide range of interests to include puzzles, games, soul music, soap operas and collecting elephant figurines. She enjoyed cruise travel and experiencing new places around the Caribbean. Lola was an active and beloved member of her senior living community and the Red Hat Society in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
Ms. Lola Wainwright was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 15 years Albert Wainwright, brothers, Louis Saxton, Billy Saxton; Romie Jones, Woodrow Green, Calvin Jones, Louis Jones, and Ricky Saxton; sisters, Maxine Reed, Earlean Minor, Kathy Saxton, Frances Saxton, Aletha Mack, and Berletha Jones.
She leaves behind her loving son and daughter-in-law Reginald and Natashia Saxton of Richmond, TX. Grand-children, Regis Saxton and his wife Amber of Centreville, VA; Caria Mitchell and her husband Jeremy of Medina, OH; Madonna Saxton of Houston, TX, and Janay Han and her husband Daniel of Fort Bragg, NC. Sisters Carolyn Saxton / Williams of Belleville, IL; Sharon Saxton / LeFlore and her husband Sidney of Shiloh, IL; and brother Randy Saxton and his wife Queen of Alorton, IL. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Naomi, Reginald and Christian. Her surviving extended family from the Cleveland area include nieces, Ann Wallace and Gwen Minor; Melvina Saxton of Muncie, IN and nephew Melvin Saxton of Atlanta, GA. She is survived by a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Lola was wife, widow, mother, and loyal friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and the joy she brought with her smile, laughter, kind heart, and strong bond to family.
The Saxton family would like to give a special thanks to Vantage Hospice and staff who took great care of her in the final weeks of life.
