

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Branham, age 64, on November 15, 2024, following an illness while visiting his son in Florida. Michael was born on April 30, 1960, and was a lifelong resident of Houston. He was the youngest of four children of Phillip and Barbara Branham and was a cherished son, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Michael was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church for over 40 years, and his life and education were deeply rooted in his faith. He attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1978. He later earned his degree from the University of Houston’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1985. Michael’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate Buffalo Bill’s Restaurant for many years, a beloved establishment in the community.
Michael was a proud father to three sons, who were his greatest blessings: Michael Joseph II, Andrew, and Christopher with wife Natasha. He is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Branham; his brother-in-law, Dennis Williamson; and his grandparents. His legacy of love and kindness is carried on by his mother, Barbara Branham; his sisters, Debbie Williamson, Susan Parker and husband Mike, and Karen Kurt and husband Paul; and his extended family, including nieces Amelia Williamson Smith, Adele Kurt Brunson, Kathryn Parker, and Christina Kurt; nephews Michael Kurt, David Williamson, and Daniel Parker; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Michael’s passions were as abundant as his love for life. He was devoted to his family and friends, always making time to gather, celebrate, and share his culinary talents. An avid cook and master of barbecue, Michael delighted in preparing meals that brought people together. His love for the outdoors was evident in his cherished moments fishing, crabbing, and enjoying the beauty of Galveston Bay. A man of faith and family, his gentle spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Michael’s life was a testament to faith, love, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
